Artist: Frank Sinatra
One of the Chairman’s greatest Reprise releases, September of My Years, is now available on CD for the first time in more than 12 years! This 45th anniversary edition of the 1965 Grammy Award winning album is remastered from the original tapes and contains 2 exclusive bonus tracks. This classic album features Frank’s riveting rendition of “It Was a Very Good Year,” and went to #5 on the 1965 charts. The bonus tracks included are a live performance of “This Is All I Ask” and a single version of “How Old Am I?” Also included are comprehensive all-new liner notes by Stan "Underwood" Cornyn.
The album is one of Frank Sinatra's triumphs of the '60s and captures how Sinatra was at the time of his 50th birthday. Gordon Jenkins' rich, stately, and melancholy arrangements gave the album an appropriate reflective atmosphere. Most of the songs were new or relatively recent numbers; every cut fit into a loose theme of aging, reflection, and regret. Four Grammys and 45 years later, the 1965 album is considered one of the finest recordings of his career.
